INSURANCE CLAIM SPECIALIST

Our project managers have been extensively trained to walk you through the insurance process from start to finish and get the most out of your claim while protecting your rights as a property owner.

Filing a claim with the insurance company can be a very frustrating and daunting process. Working with our project managers, simplifies that process. At Rock Canyon Roofing we help you through the entire process, beginning with an initial inspection of the roof. If we find damage that we feel warrants an insurance claim we will show you the photos and video so you can see the damage first hand. Then all you need to do is call your insurance provider and start a claim.  Let us know when the adjustor will be there and we will make a point to be there for the insurance inspection.

Most of the time, the insurance company will issue a settlement that covers the least amount of damage as possible.  Don’t worry, we will help you with that.  Sharing your insurance settlement paperwork with us allows our Project Managers to negotiate and work with the adjustors to make sure all damage is covered and any required code upgrades are addressed.  That is what sets us apart from every other roofing company.  We will take the time to make sure you are getting the most out of your insurance claim.

How To File An Insurance Claim

Filing a claim with your insurance company can be overwhelming and frustrating.  Rock Canyon Roofing is here to simplify the process and educate you about your rights throughout the process.

  • Call your insurance claim number to file the initial claim.
  • Call Rock Canyon Roofing for an initial inspection.
  • Set up an appointment for your Rock Canyon Project Manager to meet with you and the insurance adjustor at the property.
  • Once your receive the initial claim settlement from the insurance company, share it with your project manager so that you can discuss deficiencies and schedule installation of the new roof.
  • The insurance company will send a partial payment to you with the settlement.  The balance will be in a second check (this includes the depreciation and supplemental claim amounts) once you have decided what material and color you want for your roof,  Rock Canyon will get the material delivered and stacked on the roof.  At this point, and NEVER before, we will obtain a deposit check from you.  NEVER GIVE ANY CONTRACTOR MONEY PRIOR TO THE MATERIAL BEING IN YOUR POSSESSION.
  • Day 1 of your roof installation is tear off of the old roof.  Be sure to clear the driveway of vehicles and any other items that could be in the way during tear off and installation. Most residential roofs will be removed and replaced in one day.  We never leave a roof open to the weather overnight.
  • Some counties require a mid-roof inspection.  Your project manager will schedule that with the county or city entity responsible.
  • Upon completion of the roof, there will be a final inspection by the city or county entity as well.  Your Project Manager will schedule it and set the ladder for the inspector.
  • Once the project is complete and all punch items have been repaired, a final supplement will be sent by Rock Canyon to your insurance company to make sure you get fully paid for the roof replacement.  These additional items that you are entitled, but are not limited to, include depreciation and supplemental items such as permit fees and any code upgrade items.   NEVER ALLOW THE CONTRACTOR TO RECEIVE THE CHECKS DIRECTLY FROM YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY,  YOU NEED TO BE IN CONTROL OF THE MONEY.
  • Once you have been paid out in full from your insurance company, Rock Canyon will issue you a final bill for the balance due.  The final bill, in most cases, will only be for the amount the insurance company has paid you plus your deductible.

NOTE: it is against the law in Colorado for a contractor to pay, offset or reduce your deductible.  If a contractor offers to waive your deductible, be very wary of this contractor.

As we all know, the insurance company is out to save money and pay out as little as possible on your claim.  Rock Canyon Roofing has the experience to help you get the payout you deserve from the insurance company.
