Our commercial project managers are all HAAG certified. And have years of commercial roofing experience. Most modern single ply membrane roofs do not show hail damage on the surface of the membrane and, more often than not, get rejected by the insurance company adjusters. Our experienced commercial project managers can locate the damage and present it properly to the insurance adjuster. If not addressed immediately after a storm, it can cause the roof to fail in the future.
For example, an EPDM or “rubber” membrane roof that is fully adhered over fiber board or Iso insulation will not show any hail holes or damage to the surface, but under the surface, damage can be seen. The hail hits can dent the substrate and cause the membrane to lose adhesion and eventually be torn off by wind. The hail dents to the substrate can also damage the R value of the insulation. Our experienced project managers have found that most insurance adjusters just don’t have the training to deal with this kind of roofing and damage. That is why it is so important to have a trained commercial roofing professional at the property when the insurance adjusters are doing the initial inspection.

There are many different options for flat or low pitch commercial roofs, but a favorite of Rock Canyon Roofing is a silicone coating by Gaco. The benefits to using a coating, versus a complete tear off, are cost and maintenance. There is a huge savings in not having to remove the old roof because the silicone material can be applied over the top of many different types of roofing material. It is the only roofing system that can withstand ponding water for an extended amount of time. This makes it an excellent option for flat roofs that have some lower areas that do not drain well. Additionally, it comes with a 50 year material warranty.
